Bon Jovi on a pinball machine – it actually works rather well. Great songs, big stages and loads of energy. With the Bon Jovi Pinball , Barrels of Fun has created a pinball machine that not only draws its visual inspiration from the theme but also builds the entire game around a Bon Jovi concert.

On the playfield, the aim is to build your set list, get the crowd going, reach the backstage area and, finally, kick off the encore. A total of 17 Bon Jovi songs, complemented by concert footage and music videos from various stages of the band’s history.

There’s plenty going on in terms of gameplay. The Heart & Dagger in the centre of the playfield uses magnets and a multi-stage diverter to send the ball down different paths. Via the Steel Horse , the ball enters a physical 3-ball lock, whilst the unusual Crowd Amp-Up Loop combines a captive ball with a spinner. Added to this are the Crowd Surf Jump Ramp, the backstage area with further targets, and a second 3-ball lock.

One detail we particularly like is the soundboard in the apron. The sliders move during play and, together with the illuminated displays, the whole thing really does look like a small mixing desk. Added to this are the large Bon Jovi stage, metal trusses and three working spotlights.

Technically speaking, Barrels of Fun has really pulled out all the stops with the Bon Jovi Pinball. The Horizon Atmospheric Lighting provides RGBW lighting inside the cabinet and on the playfield. It also features anti-reflective Infinity Glass, high-quality EverGloss decals, a shaker motor and a revamped sound system with a 15.6-inch HD display, stereo speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer.

The Bon Jovi Pinball is being produced worldwide in a limited edition of 700 units . This makes it of interest not only to Bon Jovi fans, but also to anyone wishing to add an exceptional and comparatively rare modern pinball machine to their collection.
